Overview
Icelolly.com is a travel comparison and deals website based in the UK. They primarily focus on promoting budget package holidays to middle class households.

In December 2022 they launched a TV advert which aimed to stand out amongst competitors with a claymation animation and an informal tone.

My Role
I distilled the style of the TV advert into a visual campaign which ran across all digital marketing channels that was to be light-hearted, fun, and slightly tongue-in-cheek, matching the tone of the TV ad as well as the overall brand itself.

This campaign was promoted across all marketing channels channels: including email, social media, web home page, paid search and display which across static and animated formats.

Primary deliverables featured a consistent, easily reproducible visual system complete with typographic treatment, static and motion design guidelines for use across all channels. Other notable deliverables included OOH ads in Glasgow, UK.

A key part of this campaign was the consistent use of AI image generation tool Midjourney to generate holiday themed backgrounds that would accurately match the aesthetics of the featured claymations characters: Mel and Joey.

This provided a versatile, experimental way to solve the problem we faced of traditional holiday stock imagery not matching the texture and look of the claymation characters.
My Role
Here's a strong example of a Midjourney prompt used to give reproducible, consistent backgrounds;

"a cute ground level tropical beach facing the sea, palm trees either side of frame, very sunny bright day, aardman animation style, strong bokeh" (outcome seen above)

The beginning of the prompt would then be amended to whatever context that was required for the particular campaign the asset was for.
